warranty
Here are some things to know before enjoying your new controller!
General Warranty for all controllers:
If the guitar controller is faulty in its electronic parts in the first 365 days of receiving the guitar, a replacement part for the faulty equipment will be sent to the customer at no charge.
The guitars are designed to be repairable by the consumer; very few cases require shipping the entirety of the guitar back and forth between us and the customer. There will soon be a video for every repair on our website that will walk you through step-by-step on how to replace any electronics within the guitar controller. In the meantime, if you are experiencing anything questionable, please reach out.
If the issue should persist to the point where the guitar needs to be sent back to us, instructions on how to pack and ship the guitar will be sent to you. Communication will be open with in regard to what needs repaired and what further steps need to be taken to repair the electronics.
The guitar controllers are under a 60 day warranty, from time of delivery, for the plastic shell which includes the neck and its plastic parts, headstock and its plastic parts, and the body and its plastic parts. The guitar strap and pick do not have a warranty.
Any plastic part that is faulty in design or build quality falls under this insurance of the 60 day warranty. 60 days is enough time for the consumer to see if there are any damages from manufacturing or shipping like cracks, serious blemishes, or breakage in the build.
We are not responsible for general wear and tear. Although our guitars support a wide variety of play styles, we do not cover damage caused by overly aggressive play styles, like strumming overly hard, or aggressively moving the whammy bar. Using the guitar in this manner can lead to damage. Do not throw, drop, smash, or modify the guitar. This will void your warranty.
If you choose to modify the guitar controller, this will void your warranty. Modifications can cause damage to both the software and hardware, possibly making buttons and/or functions register incorrectly or not at all, making the controller unplayable. This makes it difficult to reverse any damages caused.
If the customer has issues outside of their warranty that are not at the fault of wear and tear or its original intended design, please contact hammeronemail@gmail.com for next steps.
Returns:
We do not have a program for exchanges, as each guitar is one of a kind and made to order. We understand that new styles, shapes, colors and variants are released on a regular basis, so seeing a new release after you have already received your order can be frustrating. However this is the nature of our business, so we do not have an exchange program available at this time.
You have 30 days to return the controller from the time of delivery. If you wish to return your controller within that 30 day window for any reason, please contact us. Once the controller is returned to us and is evaluated for any damages that may have happened in shipping or during use, a full refund will be given to you. If any damages occur, this can affect the amount refunded to you.
Commission guitar controllers are eligible for a full refund within the first 14 days of purchase. Since commissions are more involved, and require more material and time to make, order cancelation requests after that 14 day window can result in a partial refund. Due to the need of special ordering material & parts, a full refund may not be possible after that 14 day window.
The guitar controller that is being returned needs to follow our shipping instructions which will be sent to the consumer after they send the refund request. The consumer must use the appropriate shipping instructions to ensure the guitar makes it back to the sender the way the consumer received it. Damages occurring during shipping from not following the shipping instructions will alter your refund amount.
Please do not run or jump with the guitar controller, drop the controller, smash the controller, break the controller, play rough with the controller, spill liquids or food on the controller, leave it in heat above 75 degrees or cold below 40 degrees, store it in high humidity, or store it in cars or garages (in places where temperature and humidity control are unpredictable).
We are not responsible for lost, damaged, or stolen property.
I do stand by the build quality of my guitars, however, they are not indestructible. They are pieces of functional art that are meant to be played, but not abused. So do take special care of it.
- Things to be careful of:
- Drops onto hard surfaces
- Bending the necks of the guitar in a way than can break printed pieces
- DON'T GRAB THE GUITAR BY THE HEADSTOCK (grab it by the neck or body)
- Do not keep in freezing temperatures, as the plastic can become brittle
- Do not keep in hot temperatures such as in the sun, or in a hot car on a sunny day. The plastic can warp and deform, affecting functionality.
Online Builder Policies:
The purpose of the builder is to help visualize your guitar as you customize it to your liking. It includes all the headstocks, neck inlays, body styles and colors that we currently offer. If there is something that you think is missing and would like to commission a controller, please contact us through our email.
Confirming your design:
Once you have finished designing your controller in the online builder, you will click the shopping cart icon, which will open a pop up window. In the window, you will click the “copy text” button, and then click the link to the listing. Once on the listing page, you will select whether your guitar is a double neck, or a single neck. Once you click “add to cart” another box will appear. Please paste the text from the builder into the text box and fill out the remainder of the form. Do not alter or add to this text in any way.
The first question you will answer is in regards to social media posts regarding your guitar. We understand that these controllers can be gifts for others, or a gift for yourself, so we want to keep the guitars a surprise if you’d like it to be. Once the guitar is delivered however, I reserve the right to post any content and photos that I have made featuring your controller. If there is a specific date you’d like us to hold off til, please let us know.
The second question is confirming the design of your controller. By checking the box, you agree that the text you have entered accurately reflects what you want the controller to look like. If, for any reason, the controller that is delivered to you is not what you pictured, but is accurate to the order you placed, please contact us about getting replacement parts sent to you if possible. Some changes are easy, others may require extensive reprinting and assembling, which could come with extra charges for the replacement parts. Any mistakes made on our end will be corrected at no cost. We reserve the right to refuse to correct the headstock, inlay, body or pickguard, as you had agreed to the color selections you had chosen.
The third question confirms that you have looked at the color wheel on the Online Builder product page. The colors in the builder may not accurately reflect the color of the plastic in real life, so please reference that photo before placing your order. If the controller that we deliver is accurate to what you have requested, but a color isn’t accurate to how you imagined it, please contact us through our email. If it requires reprinting the majority of the controller, extra charges may apply. We reserve the right to refuse to correct the color, as you had agreed to the color selections you had chosen.
